There was a NTU Open House last Saturday.

It was held at the Nanyang Auditorium. Meowmeow and I were in NTU on the day, and we decided to check out the open house. In Nanyang Auditorium, there was a showcase of the various projects by the engineering schools and URECA. At the open space outside the audit, at the quad, it's ECA booths and goodie bag collection counter Surprised... and that's where I got my goodie bag Tongue out. A picture of som eof the contents you can see below. Inside the School of Biological Science it is booths promoting the various schools and admin booths - scholarships and study loans...

In the audit, I browsed thru the Computer Engineering Section and found nothing really interesting. There was a particular project that has the topic of P-2-P (peer to peer) streaming. The students were trying to set up the antenna to receive mediacorp signals. I looked at the UI, it was pretty simple, and so I thought, this isn't something new, we already have ppsrtream / pplive / tvants technologies which are already very mature and stable.

Meowmeow actually hightlighted an interesting fact that there were very few students from those commonly known to be the best" schools. I noticed a special colored uniform, white in color with a maroon vertical line at the button area. I came to know that that's the new Yishun JC uniform, thanks to my fellow YEC member, Wanling. She was there on that day as well, representing JJC to attend a conference.

Later that night, Meowmeow and I went to the West Coast McCafe to have our dinner. We actually wished for a quiet and calm dinner after a jog in clementi, but we were surprised by a Guitar Ensemble from NUS. They performed in the Mccafe, although a bit cramped for the Arts Festival. The performance was generally very well done and it was not frequent that I am able to see a performance made up of different kind of guitars of different octaves to create nice melodies.
